Minority Women Grants

Minorities can get benefits from the government of the United States. One of these benefits includes availability of minority government grants. The minority groups can range from African Americans to Native Americans to Hispanics, and yes even WOMEN are considered a minority group. Minority grants are intended to help these groups achieve a better quaility of life by helping them with financial aid. There are numerous minority grants available including grants for small business, personal minority government grants and especially educational grants for minority women.

Personal minority grants are given to women for buying or renovating a house. Some of these grants can include paying their rent or mortgage payment. These grants also provide assistance with food, clothing, utilities, and even transportation for work.

Minority grants are given to small business owners in hopes of encouraging economic empowerment and social integration within the community.

Although there are various minority grants available, in order for you to qualify, you must meet the eligibility requirements.  Providing a direct link between corporate America and minority-owned businesses is the primary objective of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, one of the country's leading business membership organizations.

Getting certified as a minority-owned business can be achieved if...

A  minority-owned business is a for-profit enterprise, regardless of size, physically located in the United States or its trust territories, which is owned, operated and controlled by minority group members. "Minority group members" are United States citizens who are Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American.  Ownership by minority individuals means the business is at least 51% owned by such individuals or, in the case of a publicly-owned business, at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more such individuals. Further, the management and daily operations are controlled by those minority group members.
